Cad / Cam In Dentistry

What is CAD / CAM?

CAD / CAM means computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing.

Thanks to this technology, the age of digital dentistry has begun. The software and materials are increasing day by day and increasing the variety of prostheses made.

Until recently, the measurements taken in the mouth with classical measurement techniques were digitized in the laboratory and design and production was carried out. Since the measurements taken with digital scanner systems that can now be used in mouth do not contain transfer errors, they allow more error-free and faster production.

With the development of new software and materials, it is possible to make more comfortable and more aesthetic teeth by decreasing the margin of error as the production time accelerates in digitally produced prostheses.

With the CAD / CAM system, the treatments can be completed quickly, without being divided into too many sessions, in a short time depending on the prosthesis feature, and even in a single day in many cases.

Instead of paste / paste-like substances that cause nausea reflex, the ability to measure teeth with intraoral scanning cameras provides a significant convenience for people who have difficulty in taking measurements due to gastric reflex.

Today, digital methods have become indispensable in diagnosis, treatment planning and dental health. Digital imaging methods have become integrated with dentistry and have become an integral part of a successful treatment. For this purpose, tomographs and dental x-rays that provide three-dimensional visualization are used at every moment of dentistry.

So where are dental radiology and imaging methods used?

Detection of curvatures

In root canal treatment applications

When we want to visualize the bone in gum diseases

In the planning phase before surgery in implant applications, then in the control and follow-up process after the application

In jaw joint disorders

In case of suspected cyst and tumor

To determine the condition of the tooth in the extraction of impacted discs

In the planning phase before orthodontic treatment

In diseases of the pit gland

Monitoring and follow-up of disc development in children

In cases of dental and maxillofacial suppression

DIGITAL SMİLE DESIGN

The shape of the teeth, lip structure, face structure, and even the look of the person determines your face and expression. Smile design aims to give you the most accurate smile suitable for all of these.

Digital smile design aims to bring your expectations to a predictable level by showing the teeth planned and designed on the computer in a virtual environment. In addition, thanks to the developing technology, it is also possible to pour the 2D modeling we do on the computer into 3D models. Thanks to our digital dentistry applications, we aim to perform your dental treatments by meeting your expectations with our biocompatible and technological materials. Thanks to the digital impression we use, we minimize the error rate and the time spent and provide you, our patients, with a more comfortable experience.

Of course, the correct application of digital modeling methods is based on success and accumulated experience.

Gulus design is carried out in the following stages:

Firstly, your professional photographs of the inside of the mouth taken in the studio environment are transferred to the computer.

Afterwards, the design of the smile on the photographs is carried out on the computer with the help of special programmes.

Afterwards, three-dimensional models are prepared and using the plaques obtained on these models, your smile can be rehearsed without applying any procedure to your teeth with the muck-up technique.

Taking the mock-up into consideration, interventions are started in the mouth and the pink line is determined in the gingival symmetry.

The teeth are minimized to the minimum necessary.

Pre-designed teeth are bonded.

Thanks to the CAD/CAM technology used in our clinic, the design is made and engraved on ceramic blocks and ready for application within the same day.

What is CAD/CAM?

CAD/CAM means computer-aided design and computer-aided production.

Thanks to this technology, the era of digital dentistry has begun in dentistry. Software and materials are improving day by day and the variety and quality of prostheses are increasing.

Until recently, the measurements taken in the mouth with classical impression techniques were digitized in the laboratory environment and design and production were carried out. Now, the measurements taken with digital scanner systems that can be used in the mouth do not contain transfer errors, allowing more accurate and faster production.

With the new software and materials developed, it is possible to make more comfortable, faster and more aesthetic teeth by accelerating the production time and reducing the margin of error in prostheses that can be produced digitally.

With the CAD / CAM system, treatments can be completed quickly in short periods of time depending on the prosthesis feature and even in a single day in many cases, without being divided into too many sessions.

As one of the advantages, the comfort of the patients has increased considerably with the absence of the use of dough and putty-like impression materials that cause nausea reflex.

GUIDED IMPLANT APPLICATIONS

In guided implant applications, thanks to computerized 3D tomography, intraoral measurements can be taken and it is possible to place the implants at the most suitable points.

Finishing prostheses can also be prepared on the same models. In this way, the number of sessions required is significantly reduced.

DIGITAL ORTHODONTICS

By visualizing the inside of the mouth with digital measurements, it is possible to see how the orthodontic result will look like the teeth in the simulation environment, at the end and in the close situation before the treatment is performed.”

In orthodontic treatment, examination is one of the most important stages of the treatment process. Detailed examination of the face, jaw bones, muscles, joints, teeth and oral soft tissues are the main guiding factors in treatment planning.

Digital images, photographs and measurements taken from the patient during the examination phase guide the treatment planning.

With the digital measurement technique, the image of the patient’s teeth can be transferred to the computer environment in a very short time using intraoral cameras. Thus, the image projected on the screen can be examined and discussed in detail with the person to be treated.

We plan our patients who apply to our clinic for orthodontic treatment with a special software on the images we transfer to the computer environment after digital intraoral scanning. How and how much the teeth will be moved is calculated with a detailed study and the teeth are brought to the position they should be in the computer environment. The finalized image is cast into models via 3D printer and transparent aligners are prepared on these models.
